13u PGA Junior League 
 

The Pine Meadow Golf Club PGA Jr. League program is dedicated to creating an environment of learning, respect and FUN that will promote the game of golf as an individual and family activity for a lifetime of participation and enjoyment. 

Our program is based on the American Development Model (ADM) for long term athletic development.  While our program does not include participation awards, our program does acknowledge and reward effort.

Our mission: We are committed to enriching lives through experiences that transcends golf.

Core Beliefs: Every child can become a golfer.  Every golf course can become a community center.

2024 Season

  • The league will only meet on Monday nights.
  • League size will be limited to 48 junior leaguers (8 to 13 years of age), this is to create a program where the Coaches and junior's will have the opportunity to get to know each other better.
  • The Junior League Coaching staff will consist of 2 PGA Members, 1 former PGA Member and 1 Coach with experience coaching golf, hockey and soccer.  Over 100 years of experience teaching and coaching juniors.

Meet the Coaches: 

John Andrews, PGA Teaching Professional, Pine Meadow Golf Club for over 25 years and has been honored as the Illinois PGA Teacher of the Year.  John is known for his ability to work with beginners and intermediate players as well as the "weekend warrior" and elite players.  However, John is equally proud of the beginner hitting their first shot in the air and smiling as he is with a student winning a club championship or getting a college scholarship.

Chris McConnell, PGA member, Chris has instructed adult and junior golfers for over 25 years.  The last 15+ years have been in the Chicagoland area.  Conducting over 15 junior camps, 10 adult clinics as well as having taught an average of 600 lessons annually.  He has worked with many top teaching  professionals and has been involved with golf schools like Jack Nicklaus/Jim Flick and John Jacobs.

Ken Field, former PGA professional, now in the insurance business.  Brings his experience to our program from the professional aspect and having raised two junior athletes, son and daughter.

Bill Andrews, experienced youth coach, Bill comes to the program with a wealth of experience in youth coaching, having coached golf, hockey and soccer.  He is the older brother of John Andrews.  Bill has been Coaching for over 25 years.

The Pine Meadow 13u program is a developmental, educational and FUN league program that strives to create lifelong golfers.  This is what your child can expect from the 2024 league:
-  First two weeks of pre-season is a get to know the Coaches and the Coaches get to know your child.           These sessions will also be about instruction regarding the basics of the game from driving to putting to       bunker game.                                                                                                                                                  -  Next three sessions will be divided between more instruction and experience on the course.  Each week     will be divided 50/50 course time and range time.                                                                                          -  Last three sessions will be actual matches on course for the complete time.  This is where the goal is to       bring all this information together and learn actual competition on course.

2024 PGA Jr. League dates announced for Pine Meadow.                                                                          2024 Jr. Leaguers and parents:  Following ar the dates for the 2024 season which I hope will help you in planning for summer 2024.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           Registration Fee:  $450.00 which includes uniform cost, two pre-season practices, 6 matches, green fees, instruction and spectator carts during matches.  There is one extra match date in case of rain.

How to Register: Registration starts January 9, 2024.  Registration is a two step process.  Contact Pine Meadow 847-566-4653 and pay a $351.00 fee.  At this time you will be given an access code to finish your registraion and pay the $99.00 fee to the National J. League Program.
